9:00 AM         Mennonite Women: Mary Yoder will lead the devotion. Please
        
read Genesis 2:8-10, 15 and Psalm 8 in preparation. The project
        
is white socks for Four Oaks and b ar s oap for MCC. Please note
        
that this is Guest Day. We are inviting the women from Upper Deer
        
Creek Church, but you are welcome to invite other friends too. We
        
will have a potluck, so please bring plenty of food to share with our
        
guests.

Jr. Dept - Just a reminder that we are having class first and opening second . Report to the sanctuary after class. Also, remember that we decided to help support Mark and Sarah Schoenhal's mi ssion assignment to Thailand with our offerings.

We rejoice with Michael, Melanie, Cara, Taryn and Justin Leichty on the birth of Shannon Erica! Shannon was born Friday, October 23. Volunteers are needed to furnish meals for Michael and Mel. Please call Anita Beachy at 646-5090 if you would like to help.

Youth and adult singers : A lthough you may have missed the first Christmas Choir practice last week, you ma y still come and join the fun. Thursday, November 12th will be our next rehearsal .

COMMUNITY ANNOUNCEMENTS
Mennonite Central Committee Increases Asia Disasters Appeal. In response to the needs of flooding and earthquake survivors in Asia, MCC is increasing its appeal for donations to $250,000. The additional contributions will allow MCC and its partners to respond to extensive flood damage in southern India and Cambodia and to provide permanent housing for people in Indonesia, where earthquakes devastated entire villages. Please donate by sending checks designated Asia Disasters to MCC Central States, PO Box 235, North Newton, KS 67117 or online at donate.mcc.org.

There is limited seating for this afternoon's (final) performance of The Wizard of Oz at IMS; the performance will begin at 2:30 p.m. on the stage of Celebration Hall. If you've yet to catch the production, please come; tickets can be purchased at the ticket office.

Galen Graber will be the presenter at College Financial Aid Planning Night in IMS' Celebration Hall at 7:00 p.m. Monday, November 9. This presentation is for both parents and students, and is especially geared to seniors and juniors, but all are welcome.

Caregiver Support Group will meet on November 12 this month to discuss Emergency Precautions in the Home ( please note the change in date due to Veteran's Day) in the Miller Chapel/Blue Room at Pleasantview Home at 2:30 p.m. All friends and family members who are caring for loved ones are welcome to attend, free of charge. Questions can be directed to Shirley Rath or Margaret Donnelly at Washington County Public Health and Home, 1-800-655- 7758.

Crooked Creek Christian Camp announces its annual fall business meeting on November 12 for all SIMCA members and interested persons. Soup supper will be served from 6:15 6:45 with the meeting at 7p.m. Come to learn about camp and what happens there throughout the year.

Pathway Christian School's annual Senior Class Haystack Supper is Friday, November 13, from 5:00 8:00 p.m. The meal is served on a donation basis. No tickets needed everyone is welcome.

Marriage in the Retirement Years , a seminar led by John and Naomi Lederach will be held at Kalona Mennonite Church on Sunday, November 15, 3:30-5:15 p.m. This seminar will focus on how to have a fulfilling marriage in the retirement years of life. This seminar is also for those who will soon be approaching retirement. John and Naomi have been involved in a lifetime of teaching, preaching, and marriage counseling. There is no cost to this seminar.

Are you interested in the future of Iowa Mennonite School? To be a part of marketing efforts to ensure IMS will be there for your chil dren, grandchildren and others? "Friends of IMS" will be meeting at the school on November 19, 6:30 p.m., to discuss ideas and put some plans in action. All are invited to attend this informational meeting; please contact Chris Nachtigall at the school for more information.
